Department: Finance Department Position: Accounts Payable Clerk Salary & Benefits: As per CUPE contract Application Deadline: Wednesday January 18, 2023 Summary of Job Description The Finance Clerk/ Payroll Clerk will assist in all areas of our Finance office. An example of duties will include:
All aspects of Accounts Payable including redistributions and allocations including vendor and
contractor payments and Employee Reimbursements.
Preparation of monthly financial statements including cash receipt reports, payroll entries,
benefits, daycare entries
Benefits enrollment including HEB Manitoba health benefits, pension, EAP
Prepare cheques as necessary and secure signatures as per NorWest policies and procedures
Assist Finance Department with the yearend preparation.
Work collaboratively with Finance Department to ensure finance related tasks are completed
timely and accurately
Maintain up-to-date files
Responds to requests for accounting information in a timely, professional manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
College diploma in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and/or business administration and 1-2
years payroll experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and ethical business practices
Ability to process transactions in computerized accounting software and prepare reports
using computerized reporting package
Strong Excel and Microsoft Word skills
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both internally and
externally
Good verbal and written communication skills
Skilled at setting priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring progress, and tracking
details, data, information, and activities
Other Assets
Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting software and Management Report
Familiarity with MS Outlook
Experience in payroll administration
Knowledge of Pay works payroll programs
Experience in a non-profit and/or community health setting an asset
Excellent computer skills essential
