Shift days and times could vary Start Date: ASAP Closing Date for Internal Applicants: January 5, 2023 Position Summary: The Clinic Outreach Assistant Clinic Outreach Assistant is responsible for support and coordination of the logistics of Veterinary Outreach clinics, assisting at the clinics and overall participation in the execution of WHS clinic remote programs. Reporting to the Director or Veterinary Services, the Clinic Outreach Assistant is expected to independently carry out established responsibilities while also working directly and collaboratively with the One Health Specialist, Outreach Veterinarian and Outreach RVT in addition to all other staff within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Supporting the execution of rural and urban WHS veterinary outreach clinics by
scheduling, helping to secure staff/volunteers and assisting with packing and
unpacking, clinic set up and take down,

Coordinating appointments, helping with equipment maintenance, coordinating
transport of supplies,

Performing veterinary assistant and reception duties including medical record
transcription, booking accommodations, coordinating transport of equipment,
staff and tracking inventory

Working proactively with animal rescues, organizations and communities in
Manitoba

Participate in ensuring that all activities are conducted according to regulations
and procedures established by the MVMA and following the Animal Care Act of
the Province of Manitoba.

Abilities, Skills & Knowledge:

Demonstrate and maintain professionalism in all aspects of work
Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate

and effective communication tools and techniques

Excellent organisational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel).
Knowledge and ability to understand general animal care and

spay/neuter/vaccination procedures. Knowledge of assessing general animal health and welfare, general care of companion animals and their behaviour.

Knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
Adaptability and comfortable in working in various environments with multiple

partners.

Good stress management skills in working in high stress situations involving people

and animals.

Excellent adaptability in work schedule

Education, Training & Knowledge:
The following qualifications are desired and would be considered assets:

Experience in a similar role.
Training in companion animal handling and restraint in a Fear Free fashion
Experience working in a veterinary clinic setting.
Certificate, diploma or degree in an animal health related field.
Proven track record working with animal rescues, First Nations, Veterinarians, and

RVTs
The following qualifications are desired and would be considered assets:

Experience working in a non-profit organisation
