Job: Director of Resident Care

Status: Full Time
Core Function:
In consultation with the Executive Director, plans and develops a high quality nursing care service that complies with relevant government legislations, policies and standards, and reflects the organization’s vision, strategic direction and resident centred approach.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years nursing experience, including 1 year experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Nursing
A minimum of 3 years experience as an RN in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting, preferably in long term care and in an unionized environment
Current CPR Certificate (i.e., completed within one year period)
A leadership and management style that is innovative, energetic, honest, participatory, empowering and enabling, as well as a talent for team building
Strong conflict resolution skills
Computer literacy required
Previous experience working with budgets
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; fluency in Chinese a strong asset
