Job SummaryFamily Services of Central Alberta is currently recruiting a Child and Family therapist to provide counseling within a dynamic non-profit organization starting immediately. Position duties includes:
Provision of individual, couple and family counselling services Ability to work with culturally and demographically diverse clients ( e.g. children – seniors ) Theoretical knowledge and ability to practice brief therapies and family therapies Possible public speaking engagements Ability to facilitate psychoeducational groups/workshops Ability to work within a team environment Maintenance of client caseload (e.g. documentation) Some evening work required
Qualifications Masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counselling Psychology or related field. All candidates must be registered and in good standing with professional regulatory body and understand the application of their code of ethics. Must be able to obtain professional liability insurance, cost will be covered by agency Experience and knowledge of mental health and addiction issues, workplace problems, grief and loss and family systems General assessment skills Basic crisis management skills Group facilitation experience Experience working with children and using play-based interventions are an asset. Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs Verbal and written professional communication skills Preference for candidates who have five or more years of counselling experience and have experience providing family therapy Valid Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention check

Note: Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. This is a permanent position Monday – Friday with evening work Monday and Tuesdays. Full benefit package available after successful completion of a 3- month probationary period.
