The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Human Resource Generalist for the Georgia Divisional Headquarters, located in Norcross, Georgia.

Job Summary
Plans, prepares and maintains automated and/or manual personnel records for all employees of the division; prepares and reviews all paperwork necessary to process new hires and salary increases for current employees; reviews and verifies all onboarding and off-boarding paperwork submitted by the Divisional Locations to ensure accuracy and completeness; assists in the selection, interviewing, recruitment, processing and onboarding of personnel at DHQ and assists in special HR projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources. Knowledge of standard record keeping practices and procedures. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of personnel related information. Ability to prepare and maintain personnel records in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Ability to assist in enforcing personnel policies and procedures in a tactful and courteous manner. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to keypunch information into a computer. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to use/operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, facsimile machine and adding machine.

Education and Experience
Two (4) years’ degree from an accredited college, technical or vocational school,

And

Two (2) years’ experience working in the human resources field,

Or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to bend, squat, twist, and stand, as these movements are a regular requirement of this position; Ability to lift to 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (50-100+ lbs.) on an infrequent basis with appropriate tools and safety equipment. Duties are usually performed standing or seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Fair amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in an environment where there are little, or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Occasional travel to other sites and may require shared use of spaces.
