Location – currently remote, otherwise Ealing based with some travel to other offices and locations.

The Legal Services (Operations) Team is a high achieving in house legal team providing the Group’s operational departments with access to in-house advice and support, in all manner of property, housing and litigation, including but not limited to – Antisocial behaviour (ASB), injunctions, disrepair, income recovery, possession and landlord and tenant law and conduct both court and tribunal work; we also have a non-contentious arm where mainly transactional work is conducted.
More About the Role
As our In House Solicitor/Lawyer (Experienced Paralegal), you will be delivering legal advice to the Operations department and the wider group. You will be expected to provide legal advice on all aspects of housing and property management issues across all tenures with the primary aim of providing early cost-effective solutions without the need for litigation where possible.
In your role you will be assisting departmental managers in drafting or understanding court applications, statements of case/defences and written evidence; and negotiating settlement on contentious issues.
More About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
Admission as a solicitor in England & Wales or a fellow of The Institute of Legal Executives and be a qualified solicitor with practicing certificate.
Be a confident negotiator with a post qualification experience of one or more areas of housing management case law and CPR practice and procedure, in particular in the areas of anti-social behaviour, defending disrepair claims and pursuing claims for possession/other remedies for other breaches and negotiating out of court settlements.
