Overview
Partner, Health, Safety & Prevention (Permanent, Full-Time) Job at Union Gospel Mission – Vancouver, BC
Are you passionate about employee health and safety, and possess a strong desire to lead a safety strategy within a not-for-profit context? Are you detailed-oriented, with high self-motivation and effective communication skills? Do you enjoy working within a team, building collaborative relationships with all levels of management and workers? If this describes you, we want to hear from you. You would be working with the Director of People & Culture, leading UGM’s OHS strategy by developing a system framework and providing leadership, support, and technical guidance to directors, managers, supervisors, and workers. With your excellent knowledge of WSBC and the WCA, you would develop and improve OHS policies and procedures, and develop tools and training resources to support all UGM branches. Your previous OHS experience will help you in your consistent evaluation, measuring, and monitoring of UGM’s OHS practices, and also in building a culture of physical and psychological safety that extends to prevention of workplace violence and also ergonomics. If you have your CRSP and OFA3 certifications, a class 5 Driver’s License (with a clean driver’s abstract), and three or more years of recent and related OHS experience, this may be the perfect fit!
You may come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
