Propulsion Equipment Engineering – Team Leader Job at Airbus – Stevenage
Travel: Occasional travel within the UK and to Europe / USA
Security Clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS check

We are looking for a SPACECRAFT PROPULSION EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING TEAM LEADER to join our Propulsion engineering team in Stevenage, UK.

How you will contribute to the team
Responsibility as Equipment Technical Authority (TA) for multiple equipment in procurement today, e.g. thrusters, apogee engines, valves, filters
Leadership of small team of engineers, ranging from entry-level to subject expert, including performance management
Lead reviews and own equipment documentation; requirements, design and justification, test plan, verification, user manuals, failure mode analysis,
Oversee equipment qualification status, and provide technical support throughout integration, sign-off test results, and support non-conformances
Principle point of contact for Airbus DS regarding all technical topics associated with the equipment; suppliers, customers, agencies
Manage the team budget across multiple business lines, and support new proposals and process improvements
About you
Have acted as a leader of a team, or have demonstrable people leadership skills
Relevant degree in engineering, maths, physics, nuclear, or suitable similar experience
Understanding of spacecraft propulsion systems and their components, and the relevant design, qualification and acceptance processes for these equipment
Engineering experience working in a multifunction team (technical, procurement, quality), and operating in a supplier & customer chain
Eligibility to handle US licensed data, eg EAR / ITAR data and equipment
